Stock Car Series
2003
Championship
Structure
- The Stock Car Series
2003 shall comprise a maximum of six point-scoring
rounds.
- The points for ALL
rounds will count towards the championship.
- Three point-scoring
races shall be run at each round.
- Points are awarded to
drivers and not to cars.
- At the end of the
series, if any drivers have an equal number of points,
final positions will be based on best finishing positions
throughout the series.
- Grid positions for the
first race at each round shall be based on a
draw.
- Grid positions for the
second race at each round shall be the reverse of the
first race.
- Grid positions for the
third race at each round shall be based on qualifying
times.
- The first two races for
each round shall be by standing starts. The third race
shall be by a rolling start.
- Points shall be awarded
as per the TTASA point system (see table below).
Additional points may be awarded based on meeting
attendance, subject to TTASA stipulations. Essentially,
the point system will be aligned with TTASA regulations,
allowing stock car drivers to be eligible for the TTASA
overall Champion Driver award. No points are awarded to
non-finishers. Non-finishers are defined as cars not
running at the end of the race, regardless of laps
completed. Finishers are defined as cars which take the
chequered flag regardless of laps completed.
- Cars must conform to the
specifications laid out in the Stock Car Regulations for
2003.
- Changes to these
regulations may be made during the season only by
majority vote of the participating stock car
drivers.
