Car Specifications/Regulations 2003 The spirit of these regulations are to provide close competitive racing at minimum cost to competitors and as such, standard mass produced OEM or aftermarket parts where ever inferred are to be used. Modifications other than these will not be allowed.
ENGINES The following modifications will be allowed:- Engine Capacity will be 1500cc engine. Only manufacturers OE pistons (including oversize) will be allowed. Substitute pistons and pins must not weigh less than manufacturer's original and not increase the compression ratio. Carburetion:- A single downdraft 32-36 Webber may be substituted in place of the existing carburetor using carburetor adaptor. (see appendix no. 1). Total distance between base of carburetor - base of intake manifold must not exceed one inch, inclusive of insulators and adaptor. Exhaust System:- Existing exhaust manifold may be replaced with an approved Exhaust Header. (see appendix no. 2) Exhaust pipes must exit outside coachwork, rearward of the driver. Cylinder heads which have been damaged due to excessive heat may be cleaned up to a max of .025" less than original. (118 mm) No modification may be carried out to intake and exhaust ports. Ignition system - Standard as supplied by manufacturer, however plug leads may be changed. Alternators may be removed or rendered unserviceable. Power steering pump may be removed or rendered unserviceable. Standard flywheels may be
lightened to approved specification. (see appendix no.
3) Mechanical fuel pumps may be substituted or augmented with electrical pumps. Clutches and Pressure Plates may be upgraded. They must fit on the standard flywheel. No twin disc clutches allowed.
GEARBOXES Only the standard gearbox as fitted to the 1300, 1500 cc and 1600 cc engine will be allowed. This must contain standard ratios with the exception of final drive ratio, which may be changed. Limited slip differentials will not be allowed. Max final drive ratio will be 4.47
SUSPENSION Struts, Shocks, Springs - Free, however, they must fit in the original cup. If less than original size, they must be wired in place. This is subject to safety approval of the scrutineer. No coil-overs will be allowed. Front and rear Anti Roll Bars - only Manufactured OE bars for the B 13 Sentra will be allowed. Multiple bars may be used. Original steering racks must be used in original position. Strut Tower Braces will be allowed. (front and rear)
BRAKES (FRONT & REAR) Linings - Free. Discs and Calipers - Any factory B 13 or B 15 discs and calipers may be adapted or fitted. Master Cylinders - only manufacturers OE allowed. Removal of equalizer valves will be allowed.
RIMS 13" and 14" diameter only. 6" maximum width.
TYRES Only production D.O.T. tyres approved for road use will be allowed. Tread wear must not be less than 200 and must be clearly displayed on all four tyres, width must not exceed 205 Profile not less than 50 series No racing tyres will be allowed
SAFETY All cars must be fitted with
full roll cages as well as nets on driver doors. Seats must be properly bolted. External ON/OFF Battery switches are mandatory. Aeroquip lines while not mandatory are recommended. Steering locks must be removed. All cars must be equipped with a 6 point harness.
GENERAL Radiators and fans - Free. Gasoline - only gas which is available at a gas station pump will be allowed. Fuel cool-cans are allowed. Upholstery panels, dash panels, trim, harnesses, air con related equipment, locking mechanisms, insulation and rust proofing may be removed. Rear doors maybe welded shut and window winding mechanism removed. Side and rear windows may be replaced with lexan, however front windshield must be of a laminated type. Cars must however conform to a minimum weight of 2000 lbs. Aerodynamic devices as specified in the appendix shall be allowed. Air induction systems will be allowed as long as they do not constitute a ram air effect. Fenders may be flared to accommodate tyres. Rubber mounts may be replaced by solid mounts. All engines and gearboxes will be sealed in the approved manner before the first race meeting. Seals may be broken only in the presence of three members of the Stock Car Series committee. Any driver using more than one engine in the series is expected to have seals on all engines used. Seal numbers will be recorded. In order to discourage competitors blue printing of engines, a claiming rule of three thousand Trinidad & Tobago dollars (TT$ 3,000.00) shall be applicable. Any competitors engine may be claimed by another competitor subject to the following:-
All cars must have competition numbers displayed on both rear windows and left front quarter of the bonnet. Protests with respect to cars are subject to the standing rules and regulations of the Trinidad and Tobago Automotive Sports Association - TTASA. The driver of any car found to be in violation of the above rules will be disqualified and all points forfeited for the year.
