Carib Beer Stock Car Series 2002

Championship Structure

  1. The Carib Stock Car Series 2002 shall comprise a maximum of six point-scoring rounds.
  2. The points for each driver's best five rounds will count towards the championship.
  3. If fewer than six rounds are run for whatever reason, all rounds will count towards the championship.
  4. Three point-scoring races shall be run at each round.
  5. A minimum of six starters are required to constitute a point-scoring race. Points are awarded to drivers and not to cars.
  6. At the end of the series, if any drivers have an equal number of points, final positions will be based on best finishing positions throughout the series.
  7. Grid positions for the first race at each round shall be based on a draw.
  8. Grid positions for the second race at each round shall be the reverse of the first race.
  9. Grid positions for the third race at each round shall be based on the sum of each driver's finishing positions for races one and two, lowest value starting on pole.
  10. Where a driver fails to finish, his position for that race shall be equal to the number of starters in the race, so far as third race grid positions is concerned.
  11. Where the sum of finishing positions for more than one driver is the same, positions for those drivers will be based on the initial drawing for race one.
  12. Races one and two shall be ten laps in length (or approx. ten miles).
  13. Race three shall be fifteen laps in length (or approx. fifteen miles).
  14. In the case of races outside Trinidad, the event organizers shall determine the length of each race, however these should be within ten percent of the allotted length in distance of Trinidad races, plus or minus.
  15. Points shall be awarded as for 2001 (see table below). No points are awarded to non-finishers. Non-finishers are defined as cars not running at the end of the race, regardless of laps completed. Finishers are defined as cars which take the chequered flag regardless of laps completed.
  16. Cars must conform to the specifications laid out in the regulations determined by the Stock Car Drivers Committee at at the start of the series.
  17. Changes to these regulations during the season can only be made by the Stock Car Drivers Committee.
