About the Stock Car Series

Take sixteen almost identical Nissan B13 sedans, beautifully painted in sixteen different sponsor's colors and logos, give them to a mix of experienced ex-race drivers, hot current racers and a few rookies, put them through a twelve-race championship series and what you have is the Carib Beer Stock Car Series 2000.

The brainchild of Trinidad & Tobago's most famous race driver Frankie Boodram and brought to you by Speed Promotions Limited and Carib Beer, races take place at the one mile Wallerfield Racing Circuit, Trinidad and run to the end of October when a champion driver will be determined. The races have lived up to their promise to bring excitement to drivers and spectators alike. Sponsors and drivers share the best starting positions throughout the series since no timed qualifying is done. Instead, grid positions for the first of the two races on each of the six race days are based on a draw, the positions being reversed for the second race. Races are twelve lap sprints and a simple point system which keeps everyone in close contention will determine the ultimate winner of the series.

The focus of these pages is to allow drivers, sponsors and fans to track the progress of the championship on a meeting-by-meeting basis.

Points are only awarded to cars still running at the end of each race. At the end of the series, if any drivers have equal points, final positions will be based on best finishing positions throughout the series. Each driver's lowest point scoring day will be dropped when totaling the points and finishing positions, so only their five best days will count.

The Circuit

The Wallerfield circuit is situated in north-central Trinidad and was originally part of a World War Two US air base. It is a flat track, made up of large concrete slabs that have survived since the war. The surface is very abrasive and somewhat bumpy where the concrete has broken-up or sunk slightly. This area has been used for motor sport since the fifties.
